Lil Man + Me: Beanie Buds Who Lunch
The other weekend was one of those rare moments where we actually got stuff done and had some time for fun! On Saturday, we did our taxes early and then big man, lil man + me went out to lunch to celebrate. Here is a lil peek at our fun day.
Tax Time with My Lil Helper
As I mentioned, we started off the day doing our taxes. We actually did them early this year, and I'm so happy we did. I feel so much better having them done. We did our taxes ourselves using TurboTax. I have always used TurboTax, but it was Mike's first time using it. He was really nervous, but he ended up loving it. My dad first introduced me to TurboTax several years ago. As a DIYer, it's probably no surprise that I love doing taxes myself. But I really do find it empowering. I find that I prepare better throughout the year if I actually understand why I need to keep track of certain items for my taxes. Being informed is really powerful. Plus I enjoy learning about it.
ExplainWhy
I was really excited to try some of the new features TurboTax came out with this year. One is ExplainWhy. ExplainWhy gives bite-sized info about specific tax situations. Mike and I had a baby last year, so it is the first year we are taking the dependent deduction. It was helpful using ExplainWhy in this situation.
Tax Break with Dad
It's always necessary to take a fun break while doing taxes. I asked Mike to lift me up like this, but he wasn't too excited about it. I can't imagine why.
On Our Way to Lunch
So after we got done with our taxes, we went to lunch with our new found free time. Here is my lil man + me. We of course decided to match in beanies.
Getting your taxes done early definitely qualifies you for a burgers and fries lunch.
This face gets me every time.

Ready to Head Home
