Long
This DIY Leather Fringe Necklace will take you about 5 minutes and not much thought to make. Therefore it's the perfect "sitting at home watching Flip or Flop" weekend project. I did this necklace three ways: long, short, + gold. Oh and it's Leather Couch Chronicles project #8. Hope you likes. P.S. If you would like some earrings to go with your new necklace, check out my DIY Fringe Earrings post.
leather (I used the leather from an old couch)
necklace chain
scissors or box cutter
cutting mat (such a handy tool to have)
ruler
pen
Using a ruler + pen, measure out 1/2" x 3 1/2" strips of leather. I used about 11 pieces for the shorter necklace and 5 for the long necklace. An odd number of strips is good, so you can have one piece that hangs in the center.
Glue one end of each strip around the necklace. And you're done!
Short
To make the shorter necklace, just put the leather strips on a shorter chain. It gives you a completely different look.
Gold
For this necklace I used gold leather I found at Tandy Leather.
